TWEED RADIO DX GROUP INTERNATIONAL

The Tweed Radio Group
was formed in November of 1989 and was inaugurated on the first day of January
1990 with under 60 members which rapidly grew to 300 members by the end of
February of the same year. By April 1990 over 400 numbers had been issued and
was fast becoming a prominent Group within the CBRS. At the time of writing
membership extends to well over 2,300 members spread in 158 countries and
islands all around the globe and by all reports is still continuing to grow.
The call-sign "Tweed Radio" takes the name from where the Group
originated from being the Tweed Valley area in the far north-east corner of
New South Wales and where the Group's business was conducted from by the
43-Tweed Radio-0l, Bryan (Executive President) and his committee.
The Group aim to promote the bonds of friendship and goodwill throughout the
world between people with common interests in CB radio. As the Group's title
suggests, DXing plays a major part among Group members with DX competitions
organized on a regular basis. On the social scene, barbecues, picnics and
other types of functions serve to unite members in comradeship "off
the air."
To join the Tweed Radio Group a prospective member has to be nominated by a
member, the fees are $10/year. A member receives 3 newsletters and
membership directory updates per year and is sent a membership certificate.
QSL cards, T/shirts, key rings, club spoons, car stickers and the such-like
are all available for purchase. On occasions funds are donated to the
ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE.
The Tweed Radio DX Group seem certain to be a part of the CB fraternity for a
long time.
